Together with the ETH Library, the Institute for Historic Building Research and Conservation is organising guided tours, lectures and a workshop for children on the topic "University area: The former chemistry building of ETH Zurich" on Sunday, 15 September 2019.
Survey of the "Barchessa" East, Villa Savorgnan-Fior, Belvedere d'Aquileia (UD)
A group of architecture students from the Master's programme carried out the survey of a historical Friulian Barchessa from 8 - 12 July 2019 as part of an in-depth work at the Chair of Building Research and Construction History. The students were able to get to know the entire repertoire of different measuring instruments and methods and gain interesting insights into the construction of agricultural buildings.
Start SNSF project on the Basilica of St. Anthony at Padua
From this day on, the research project "The Basilica of Sant' Antonio at Padua - Deciphering the building history of a landmark pilgrimage church" funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation starts at the IDB.

Friday Colloquium: Standards versus Monuments
The next Friday Colloquium of the Institute of Historic Building Research and Conservation will examine the dispute over current standards for the restoration of historical monuments on the one hand, and the preservation of their non-compliant testimonial values on the other.
