The first Friday Colloquium 2019 of the Institute of Historic Building Research and Conservation at ETH Zurich will examine the questions concerning the criteria for the worthiness of protection and the conservation of post-war modernist buildings.

Abstracts can now be submitted for the conference "The Challenge of Wide Span: Timber Structure 1500-1900 in Switzerland and Beyond" on 27 and 28 June 2019.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stefan M. Holzer's new book "Der Ludwig-Donau-Main-Kanal" has been published by the German Engineer Chambers and is now available.

No passport or visa is required to attend this year's European Heritage Days. Those who dare to travel in September 2018 will gain insights behind the scenes of historical monuments in Switzerland.

In the next Friday Colloquium on 14 September 2018 in the Semper Aula, everything will focus on site development from the point of view of monument preservation.

On May 3rd 2018 an event on the preservation of historical buildings will take place at the Landesmuseum: What are the approaches and challenges and what do terms such as authenticity, inspiration or reference mean in architecture and monument preservation today?

The project "Sichtbackstein in Zürich 1884-1914" has started. By the end of 2018, an overview of Zurich's brick facades from the period around the turn of the century is to be created.
