Start of the project Sichtbackstein in Zürich
The project "Sichtbackstein in Zürich 1884-1914" has started. By the end of 2018, an overview of Zurich's brick facades from the period around the turn of the century is to be created.
After preparations in January, the first building (former chemical building of the ETH, Bluntschli and Lasius, 1884-1886) was measured. To accommodate the brick facades, which often only begin on the first floor, a fixture was designed at the institute and built by the ETH's central workshop. This enables photogrammetric images at heights of up to seven meters.
